The Role & Project:

 

As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People.

 

MACA is seeking a Project Planner to join our team working on this exciting Project on a 5:2 roster, working Monday to Friday, across two Brisbane offices – South Bank and Milton. The role includes ad-hoc site visits and travel for specific project milestones.

 

Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate and the candidate’s location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Developing tender programmes and presenting tender content to senior business leaders and client representatives. 
  • Develop and maintain programme through all project stages. 
  • Understand and communicate critical path to all relevant project participants. 
  • Preparation of claims, and supervision and review of all subcontractor interactions. 
  • Developing “what-if” programmes to assess the impact of any potential change. 
  • Understand risks and opportunities to produce different types of programmes protecting the best interests of the project and the business commercially. 
  • Analyse, collate and use a range of data and information for reporting and forecasting to the leadership team. 
  • Commitment, respect and compliance to safety, health, environment and cultural heritage policies, ‘zero harm’ objectives, health and safety initiatives, fitness for work policy and ECA vision and core values. 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

 

  • Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Construction related discipline. 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Advanced user of Microsoft office & Primavera P6 
  • Knowledge of Power BI (desirable) 
  • Civil bulk earthworks experience. 
  • Advanced planning experience. 
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts and construction. 
  • Experience in developing relations all project stakeholders. 
  • Exposure to medium/large projects (>$100M) and managing multiple projects at the same time. 
  • Tender planning experience. 
  • Delay Analysis and claims management experience.
